LANCASTER - Rodger Hicks, 48, of Lancaster, Ohio died Saturday, February 21, 2009 as the result of an auto accident.
He was born May 20, 1960. He was employed by Lancaster Bingo for 13 years, a Supervisor Red
Coat for The Ohio State University for 6 years, a softball umpire for the State of Ohio for 2 years and this year became a Fairfield County Basketball Official after years of playing softball, basketball and flag football. Rodger loved the comradery of friendship that he had with his fellow teammates and friends. He will be so eternally missed by his wife, family and by everyone that ever met this one of a kind man.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terri" Hicks who had been together for 32 years; father, John Hicks; brothers, Jeff (Sherry) Hicks and Kevin (Beth) Hicks all of Lancaster, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Hicks; and grandmother, Mabel Elick.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
